Pair of Antique Old Paris Mantel Vases

$845.00

Description

Old Paris Porcelain is very broadly defined as porcelain made by artisans in and around Paris from the late 1700’s to the 1870’s.  It was first beloved by Marie Antoinette (particularly the “cornflower” painted patterns) and utilized by only the wealthiest of French aristocrats.

These stunning vases have all-around Italian genre and castle scenes, beautifully executed. They stand 13″ tall.  There is an early repair on one of the bases.  Notice how one base has a double ring. The markings are very hard to see but impressed into one base are two parallel lines (ll) and into the other are two parallel lines with a zero or an “o” (llO).
