In the early 1930s, Farber Brothers Krome Kraft partnered with the Cambridge Glass Company to create a unique design using a glass insert that snapped in and out of a decorative chrome frame for easy cleaning. At the time, Farber Brothers were well known for their chrome trays and patented holders, and the Cambridge Glass Company was known for their glass with clear pigments.
