This Indian is carved from solid wood. It is heavy and stands almost as tall as I am! I purchased it at a “junk shop” at least 45 years ago in Mamaroneck. At the time the dealer was in the process of stripping it when I came into his shop and said STOP, don’t go any further! It was a solid color when he started but under the “top coat” the Indian emerged with blue pants and a red shirt. He needs a little help balancing with a shim under one corner of the base. The bottom was just not carved straight.
This is a fun primitive that I know nothing about.
