Mid-Century Wood carving of nude by Murray Marlow

The life-size female nude stands 69″ tall (I wish I were that tall). She is unsigned. The detail is beautiful but I have no idea what type of wood Marlow used but it is VERY heavy. She has been in our home for easily 40 years. We purchased two at auction and sold one many years ago as it was a 7′ RECLINING nude that took up too much space to display properly. The artist was verified by an antiques dealer selling a very similar work of art at the Pier in NYC who told me it was done between 1940 and 1950. I was not able to find much on the artist but did learn that there are a couple of books written about him (Abebooks and Amazon).

This lady must be handed over in person so details will be worked out.
